5 Things That Motivate Me

So often I get asked How do I put in all the hours that I do and don’t I ever get tired – well thought I would try and do a post about the 5 things that motivate me.  Actually, as I was preparing for this post I had a hard time narrowing it down to 5 as I so love working online that much.

change2As most of you know, I love helping others and that is probably the most enjoyable thing and believe me my number one that motivates me.  You see there is nothing more rewarding than having someone in your downline come to you and tell you how they are succeeding for the first time – their first referral, their first sale, etc. That will sure gets my adrenalin going and I want to help more and more and more.

With that in mind, I would have to say the 2nd would be being asked for help.  Why would that motivate me – it tells me that people have been watching, listening and trust me to even ask and that by far goes a long way in today’s world.  Do I know all the answers – NO but I do know enough people online that when I don’t know – I can ask around and will find an answer for you.

happycatSpeaking of trust, the same thing happens when I see people supporting my sites, promoting the sites.  You all have no idea what I look at behind the scenes at the sites and it’s not what the site brought in for money wise today – it’s who joined, where did they join from and why did they join.  All that info is important to me and motivates me to keep going, keep doing what I’m doing as it’s working – now that is motivation for me.

Now I know most of you reading this are wondering how I can know the why when someone joins that site – well this is just me but I have taken the time to set up a series of emails to new members and they get sent out about ever three days.  This is a teaching series that I have done up explaining the site, suggesting tools they will be needing etc. and from the response to those emails tells me what the person is looking for and how I can help them even more.

AND last but not least, most of you know by now that I love quotes, I love finding the positive out of everything – so yes I find motivation in reading quotes and wanted to share some of my favorites and believe me this was hard to narrow down to a few lol

Text Ads Work

Over the years of doing internet marketing, I’ve noticed something surprising: most people don’t use even half of the advertising resources available to them. And there’s one tool that is so overlooked it’s almost shocking.

Text Ads.
They are the most underused resource out there — and I’m here to tell you, Text Ads WORK.

What Exactly Is a Text Ad?

An online advertisement that contains only written copy

  • A short line of copy
  • A link to your site
  • A quick description of your offer

That’s it. No fancy graphics. No big production.
Just clean, direct, clickable text — and it converts.

What I See as a Site Owner

I’ve owned all kinds of sites — traffic exchanges, mailers, paid-to-click sites, and yes, even text ad exchanges.

And here’s the pattern I see over and over:

Members complain that “this site doesn’t work” or “that site doesn’t work.”
But when I go look at their account to see what they’re actually doing…
Most of the time, they’re barely using any of their advertising tools.

In TEs, many members only add the one site required to surf.
No banners.
No text ads.
No square banners.
Just empty ad slots sitting there doing nothing.

And in mailers, PTCs, and text ad exchanges?
Same story.

Meanwhile, the members I don’t hear from — the ones quietly getting results — are the ones using every resource available to them.

Always be thankful – lesson to learn

Well as I was doing the email tonight for Zaney Clicks I went searching for some Thanksgiving quotes and it’s amazing how things work out and you find things that YOU need – another one of those miracles that most don’t talk about.

As most of you know and have been putting up with my pile of screw ups on the sites lately and yes there is a reason – you see I lost focus on what I should be thankful for and got wrapped up in what life was dishing out for me instead of trusting God.

Running across this poem sure put things in perspective for me and thought I would share with all of you…

Bribe and Gifting

In the Affiliate Funnel webinar a couple weeks ago, Marci Jones talked about how people love bribes and well got me thinking and thought I’d write a post about what is running thru my mind.

offers2Remember when you first started and how you didn’t know where to start, how to start – well wouldn’t it have been nice if your upline had helped you out by gifting you some credits to get started.

Think about it if you have a site that is your favorite, you are getting results, you are earning mooooolah – wouldn’t it be in your interest to get your referrals doing the same thing.

Most of you that have your favorite sites have sooooooo many credits and they are just sitting there and you just keep surfing the site – why not use those credits and bribe more people to join under you – then reward them even more by gifting the more credits when they upgrade.

helping you learn and earnIsn’t that a win-win for YOU and your referral.  Most of the time you are already an upgraded member and some of you are lifetimers at some of your favorites sites.  This is great for YOU as you will earn commissions and you will more than likely get a referral that will join under you at another site also.

Oh I see those wheels spinning – do you know how happy your new referral would be if because of YOU gifting them credits got them their first referral or earned them their first money online.  I know you remember how exciting it was for you when that happened to you – come on and help make that happen for someone else.

Well today I thought I would finally break down and write this blog post as you would not believe how many times I hear people say but I can’t……….  Many of you know me as a quote junky and this one comes to mine

So with that in mind, lets touch on a few basics here that I will think help you especially if you don’t have a particular program to promote but you are still looking for some way to earn commissions until you can have the time to test what is working for you.

Well one of the resources that I use and just love as it makes my life so much easier and almost as handy as any rotators is this affiliate downline builder page.  So you are new to TEland, mailers, limited budge, the marketing world and so many are telling you this and telling you that – back up and think about this for a minute.

Points For You To Ponder

Well most of you know well enough by now that I listen and read what others have to say and then I have to share my two cents so I have some points for you to ponder.

Judging others

judgingcat3Way too often I see or hear about other site owners judging others for something they might be trying especially if it’s out of the norm.  And here lately, it’s because this one might be opening too many sites or another might be asking people to pay them directly to their Paypal account to keep from paying commissions and the list goes on and on.

Well I am still old fashioned enough that I still believe in ye without sin cast the first stone – and I just don’t understand how some can put themselves up on this high pedestal – don’t know about you but my mom always told me that being on that pedestal – there is always someone that wants to knock you off.

Just because you have been around the TE World for awhile, or might have more experience programming your own site, or think that you have learned it all – it still does not give you the right to judge others – period.  In my opinion, you should be focusing that time in figuring out how you can make me happy and get the results that I’m looking for.

Set of Rules to Abide By

peteThis one really gets me as I listen to this “set of rules” that some have come up with and that should be followed when running your own site or in your promoting another site.  Last I heard, we are still in a country where I still have the freedom to run my site the way I see so it will benefit my site and the members. Also, I can promote what program I want – or did we lose our freedom?

Now before you go thinking we are protecting others from being screwed over – and again who made you judge and jury?  Grant you there are some programs out there that are questionable but I don’t feel I’m qualified to decide which they are – just my opinion is I should be focused on my site and know in my heart what I am doing is legal and morally right period.

Stop straddling the fence. Again it’s these same people that talk about others yet do the same behind the scenes and I see that all the time.  How can a person preach one thing and then do the same thing they are saying others should not be doing.  How can a person put down another person for trying it their way and then publically be put down them for it BUT yet keep taking that persons money for an upgrade at their site?

Cheaters?

Who wrote the cheaters handbook?  What or who is a cheater?  When should a person be suspended?  AND if you suspend the cheaters, do they still count the that total member total that you brag about? What happened to being innocent until proven guilty?  Did that go by the wayside also?

judgingcatGrant you there are many cheaters out there and yes they should be stopped but the ones that point fingers really should look at the 3 pointing back at them.  Do you really do everything by the book?  Do you not find shortcuts that shouldn’t be used?  Do you not make deals with others behind the scene?  So who is cheating really?  Think about that the next time you make a deal with someone – who are you cheating out of their commissions?

Lifetime Upgrades

Well this one could be a post in itself as I have really caught hell (excuse my English) that I didn’t put out one of those cheap lifetimes on the mailer that I just launched.  Well Just my opinion, lifetimes are just fast money for an owner.  If the owner was serious about their sites, plan on being around for the long haul then there are expenses that go with it.

Lot of owners get in trouble offering these cheap lifetimes and then wonder why they can’t pay the commissions.  When a lifetime is offered and a person is getting 50 % commissions – you just took in 1/2 the money your should and you cut that recurring income out by offering that lifetime.

AND don’t go and make some low upgrade that is just a few credits above what free members get and put the word lifetime on it.  Come on we are not that stupid that we are going to buy that crap – just so we can say we have a lifetime at your site.  AND yes that does happen – people have been brain washed with that word lifetime.  It’s a trigger word just like free, discount, sale, etc.  Make sure that you read the fine print before you buy and that site owner laughs all the way to the bank.

60728294946944041_qNywDCq7_bWell I see that I got long winded again but feel better that got some things off my chest.  If you are looking for an honest, hard working owner, they are out there.  Don’t get caught up in the crap you read or hear about others.  The bottom line is TRACK YOUR RESULTS – this will show you the true facts about sites and where you should be with your advertising.  What works for someone else not always works for you – you have to take the time and find out what works for YOU.

Referral vs Affiliate – which are you?

It’s interesting in my years of working online that I have seen many talk about building questions3their list, getting referrals and being an affiliate Marketer. Which type of marketer do you try to add to your downline? Do you know the difference?

The definition of referral is an act of referring someone or something for consultation, review or further action. When you have a product or service you wish to share with others, what reasons do you have to help convince them to join you in the program you are promoting? In other words, you know what is in it for you, but what is in it for those you are trying to refer? Are you giving them access to something they can learn from? Is it an Opportunity you just want them to check out? What action are you wanting your
referral to take?

It is great to share a system that you feel is a good opportunity with others. But you need to also consider what is the purpose of your referral taking action on this opportunity? Are you just asking that they join a site, even if they remain a free Member there? Is this one action taken by your potential downline member or affiliate going to fulfil Your goals in the program?

Ask yourself?
Did I just advertise a page on the chance that someone would see the ad and sign up?
Did I barter with someone in a chat room and tell them I will join one of your sites if you join mine?

Did you offer a bribe (free upgrade, credits and even cash) for them to join your site?  Look at your list and ask yourself where did I get these referrals, how did I get these referrals and did any of them take the action I wanted them to take? I think you will be surprised at your answers when you really think about it.

Now the definition of an affiliate is a person or organization officially attached to a larger anothernumberbody.  Oh I know you are thinking well what does this have to do with marketing – hear me out just a moment longer.

Over the years, while building my Team, I have learned to watch for different things and I also have learned to open the doors of communication with my downline.
Everyone thinks I’m crazy for putting my chat platform out there, my email out there, all my social sites out there – well to me that is having a door that people can knock
on and communicate with me.

Yes, there are many marketers online that make good money playing the numbers game and don’t care that many unsubscribe from their list a day as more join and replace them – well I learned quickly, that was not my style.

My style is helping others and I am looking for partners (synonym for affiliate)  I am looking for people would walk the walk and not just talk the talk.  Does that take some work on my part – yes it does but let me tell you it’s worth the extra work!

An Affiliate, to me, is worth their weight in gold and if you are a “go to” person for them 004I054YQm2and are there for them when they need a question answered – you have an Affiliate for life!  One that will follow you, with no questions asked, as they have learned to trust you – you have made them feel they are MORE than a number on your list of referrals.

Once an affiliate has that confidence in YOU, has been taught the benefits, and has learned that they have a person to go to if they have questions or get stuck
(and we all need a boost occasionally)…YOU WILL BE SO GLAD YOU TOOK THE TIME to work with this affiliate!

Why?  This affiliate will be the one that takes action! They have a blueprint of what they need to do, they have the confidence they need to talk to others, they have been shown how it works and you might even hear – “Wow! This is the first time I have ever earned any money online!” And they will want to repeat that activity over and over again!

So, take a look at your list and would love to hear from you, are they a referral or an affiliate?  AND while you are at it – think about your upline – who did you join under
in a particular program – referral vs affiliate – which are you?
