Why “Vibes” Matter More Than You Think Online

There’s something I’ve noticed over the years…

And it’s one of those things that seems so obvious to me —
but somehow gets missed all the time.

People are still people.

Even online.

We may not be face to face…
We may never shake hands…
We may never even hear each other’s voices…
But that doesn’t mean we don’t feel each other.
Because we do.

💭 You Can Feel It… Even Through a Screen

Have you ever landed on a site and thought:

  • “Something feels off here…”
  • “I don’t feel comfortable…”
  • “This just feels… cold”

You may not be able to explain it.
But you feel it.

And the opposite is true too.
You land somewhere and think:

  • “I like this place”
  • “This feels welcoming”
  • “I want to stay here a bit”

That’s not an accident.
That’s the vibe.

🛍️ This Isn’t Just an “Online Thing”

I’ve always looked at this the same way I did in my offline businesses.

Whether it was my gift shop…
or years in landscaping…

One thing was always true:
👉 How you treat people matters.
Not just what you offer.
Not just what you sell.
But how people feel when they interact with you.

🍕 Two Pizza Places on the Same Block

I’ve used this example before…
Two pizza places.

Same size.
Same location.
Same menu.

But one owner:

  • knows your name
  • smiles when you walk in
  • makes you feel like you belong

The other?

  • just takes your order
  • barely looks up
  • treats you like a number

Which one do you go back to?

📺 It’s the “Cheers” Effect

Remember the show Cheers?

“Where everybody knows your name”

That feeling didn’t disappear just because we moved online.
If anything…
People need it more now.

⚠️ Where Things Go Wrong Online

Somewhere along the way, people started thinking:

“It’s online… so it doesn’t matter”

But it does.

You can:

  • come across as rushed
  • cold
  • disconnected
  • or like you don’t really care

And people pick up on it instantly.

💡 Why This Matters More Than Ever

You can have:

  • all the features
  • all the tools
  • all the bonuses

But if people don’t feel good being there…
They won’t stay.
They won’t engage.
And they won’t support you.

🌱 What People Are Really Looking For

It’s not complicated.
People want to:

  • feel seen
  • feel appreciated
  • feel like they matter

That’s it.

😊 A Little Thought to Leave You With

You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to do everything right.
But how you show up?
That matters.
Because even online…

👉 People can still feel you.

I had a conversation today that reminded me of this…
People don’t always say it directly…
but you can tell when they feel comfortable… and when they don’t

💬 Final Thought

Life can get in the way…
We all have things going on.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t still be decent with people.

Treat others the way you would like to be treated…
Even if that isn’t always what you receive in return.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about presence.

You Don’t Have to Meet Someone…
To Feel Them

👉 “Well… That Wasn’t the Kind of Morning I Planned 😄”

I woke up this morning thinking it was going to be just another normal day.
You know… coffee, check a few things, get moving.
Instead… I got a full-blown lesson in patience, technology… and apparently… toilet paper budgeting 😄

I had just put a new SIM card into my phone.
At first, everything seemed fine.
Then things got weird.
My old number came back — which was good.
Calls worked — also good.
I could send texts — still good.

BUT…

I wasn’t receiving ANY texts.
No incoming messages.
No verification codes.
Nothing.

And of course… right about that moment…
👉 my stomach decided we were having an emergency too 😳

So now I’m standing there thinking:
“Great… my phone is broken… and everything depends on this working.”
Stress level?
👉 Let’s just say it went from zero to MAX pretty quickly.

After a bit of digging (and calming down), I found out what was actually going on.
Nothing was broken.
My number was fine.
The network just needed time to “catch up” after the SIM change.
Apparently, even phones need a little time to figure things out.
Who knew? 😄

But here’s where the story takes a turn…
While I was sitting there recovering from my little panic episode…
I realized something.
I had just switched off US Cellular.
And because of that…
👉 I’m saving $27 a month.
Now most people would think:
“Oh nice, that’s extra money.”
Not me.
Nooooo… not my brain.
My brain immediately said:
👉 “Oh good — that’s my toilet paper money!” 🧻😂
Because the last time I bought the big pack at Walmart…
It was $27. Exactly.

And I laughed. I mean REALLY laughed.
The kind where you can’t stop.
Tears in your eyes.
Can’t breathe.
Everything just resets.

And just like that…The stress was gone.

💙 The real takeaway

Sometimes things feel like they’re going completely wrong.
Technology glitches.
Things don’t work when we expect them to.
Our brain jumps straight to worst-case scenarios.
But then…
You find out everything is actually fine.
And sometimes…
You even find something to laugh about.

So today?
✔ My phone is working
✔ My service is cheaper
✔ My stomach survived
✔ And I now officially have a toilet paper budget 😄

😂 Life lesson

If you can turn a stressful moment into something you laugh about…
You’re doing just fine.
And if that moment somehow turns into toilet paper money?
Well…
That’s just a bonus.

Thanks for sharing this little adventure with me today.
And if you’ve ever had one of those “everything is broken… oh wait, never mind” moments…

Just know…👉 you’re not alone
And maybe…
👉 you just found your own version of toilet paper money 💙

What If Someone Actually Listened?

What if… someone really heard all of what you were trying to explain —
how you were feeling and why —
instead of only hearing the parts that felt hurtful to them?

And then… neither of you really accomplished anything.

There was a time in my life when I struggled with that.
I’ve never been very good at putting into words exactly how I was feeling or trying to say.

And sometimes… it came out wrong.
Or something I said was taken the wrong way.

Been there… done that.

Over time, I guess I’ve learned to listen more.
And I’ve definitely learned to let a person finish their whole train of thought before reacting.

Sometimes, for me, it’s better to walk away and mull it over instead of reacting right away.

Most of the time, I’ve found that after you take time to sort through what that person was really trying to say…
you can see a different perspective.

Not that I always agree with them —
but I can understand where they’re coming from better.

This is something I’ve even learned to do online with my sites.

When something breaks…
isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do…
or is just being a genuine PITA…

Those are the times you need to walk away and calm down.

Because when you come back, your mind seems to say,
“Okay… I’m ready to tackle this now.”

Even with support messages — and we all get them —
telling us everything we’ve done wrong…

Maybe you missed putting in a code…
or forgot to set a claim page…

There was a time I would get so upset with myself.

But now?

I just laugh… fix the problem… and move on.

Most of you know my favorite line by now:

“See… that proves I’m not a machine — I still make mistakes.” (giggle)

Sometimes the greatest growth comes from becoming the person you once needed most.
💭 Have you ever had a moment like this?

Why Blog?

whyblogIt’s funny how many times over the years that I have heard people tell me and others that you need to get “yourself” out there so that others know you – branding “you” is the best way to do this.  Why Blog?  Well let me tell you the reasons that I do and then would love to hear comments on why others blog.

The main reason that I blog is that it gives me a chance to talk to people like you that I don’t always get to on a daily basis – you know the hi, how are you, what you been doing.  Over the years, as you work more online you meet more and more people and it’s hard to keep the personal touch and this is a way that I have found to keep the personal touch.  Me being me – just talking to you like you were setting right here in front of me.

opinionThe next reason is that it gives me a chance to write a review about a new product, site, or tool that I feel needs to be talked about – my way of shouting to the world that his is or is not worth talking about.  AND yes I do not always write positive reviews and the best part about blogging is it’s yours and your opinion and don’t have to be approved by anyone.

For me another reason that I enjoy blogging is that I even get people added to my list without much effort and here is how.  Over the years in learning to brand “myself”, I have learned that blogging is one of the resources that keep giving you results back when you least expect them.  You would be amazed at how many times I have had someone contact me from a post that was done years ago.

google-search-840x560Now this reason is going to sound strange but you know the saying about walking the walk and talking the talk – well I feel that blogs can do this.  When I have someone that I have never met, I Google them just to see what they know and gives me an idea their level of education with online marketing.  The back side to this is if you meet someone that makes it sound too good to be true, Google them especially if they tell you they have been working online for x amount of years – it will be there.

Well I saved the best for last – Why Blog?  EDUCATION  Over the years, I have learned so much by reading others blogs and believe me there is not many things that you cannot put into Google Search and read about.  This has come in so handy for me over the years in answering questions from others – instead of just answering ONE person – blogging your answer will help others also.

commentNow I’m sure there are many reasons out there on Why Blog and can’t wait to hear from all of you yours – don’t be shy

Just write your comment like I sitting across from you and listening because I AM

Prepare – are you ready?

prepareWell finally I can set at this desk long enough to get this post done as I have been wanting to do this for awhile now.  Most of us don’t like to think about this but I do feel that it’s one that everyone should think about Prepare – are you ready?

Most of you know that I have been having health issues and was scheduled to have my thyroid out and was told this was a 24 hours in the hospital and back home.  WRONG, well at least for me.  My 1 day turned into 9 days and when you have an online business you know that you are open 24/7 and 365 days of the year.  Did you prepare – are you ready to be gone from your business that long?

Luckily, preparations were made and things went somewhat smooth – the site stayed afloat, new members joined and I didn’t run out of credits while I was gone.  Lot of times I hear people talk about all the credits that they have built up and this is ONE time that I was glad that I had and had them assigned.

Now for the unexpected?  Prepare – are you ready?  This one took me off guard as I was not as prepared for this one as I went into ER thinking they would give me something for the pain and send me home – wow I was sure surprised to hear that I was going to have to have emergency surgery and this time have my gallbladder removed.

sickcat2The reason that I’m explaining all this as this happened just 36 days later that I was back in for a 2nd surgery and why I want everyone to Prepare and get yourself ready as you really don’t know when things like this can happen.

When emergencies strike and they will and do – Prepare – are you ready?

One Day One Step At A Time

quote-big-achievements-come-one-small-advantage-at-a-time-one-step-at-a-time-one-day-at-time-jim-rohn-92-98-79So often I’m asked how do I get this done and that done and how do I keep up with the things that I do.  Well my answer is very simple one day one step at a time.

Thru the years,  the key to all this falling into place is still simple – find something that you love doing and everything else falls into place.  Is it hard work?  Well I have to answer that with two answers – yea and no.

No I didn’t loose my mind – if you define hard work as long hours, showing up daily, and keep going because you believe in what you are doing then my answer is yes.  But on the other hand – if you find something you love doing, something that the more you do – the more you want to do and you dream about all the things you want to do – then my answer is no.

Keeping this in mind, sometimes a day can get overwhelming and lot of times will not go in the direction that you expected when you started out. So that is why I just keep taking one day one step at a time.

So when you feel like you are stuck in life, you don’t have the energy to keep trying or you are being discouraged by others – hang in there – take one day one step at a time – you will get there.

Your Attitude + Your Choices = Your Life

It’s funny how things happen in the day that lead you in a different direction and this is one of them as I know I needed to do a blog post here.  I commented on another blog and decided to expand more as this sure does sum things up YOUR ATTITUDE + YOUR CHOICES = YOUR LIFE

Now you should go back and reread that and really think about it as I remember one of the first things that I was told when I got divorced and thought my world fell apart.  A friend told me this

cf8a79ed47c43158efe1152fe0f0175d

That has stuck with me over the years and when things don’t go the way that I think they should I remember this quote.  This not only goes for your personal life but also for your business.

Things are never going to be perfect, things are never going to go the way that YOU think they should go but you stay focused, stay positive and try ONE more time – you just might find what you have been looking for.

Points For You To Ponder

Well most of you know well enough by now that I listen and read what others have to say and then I have to share my two cents so I have some points for you to ponder.

Judging others

judgingcat3Way too often I see or hear about other site owners judging others for something they might be trying especially if it’s out of the norm.  And here lately, it’s because this one might be opening too many sites or another might be asking people to pay them directly to their Paypal account to keep from paying commissions and the list goes on and on.

Well I am still old fashioned enough that I still believe in ye without sin cast the first stone – and I just don’t understand how some can put themselves up on this high pedestal – don’t know about you but my mom always told me that being on that pedestal – there is always someone that wants to knock you off.

Just because you have been around the TE World for awhile, or might have more experience programming your own site, or think that you have learned it all – it still does not give you the right to judge others – period.  In my opinion, you should be focusing that time in figuring out how you can make me happy and get the results that I’m looking for.

Set of Rules to Abide By

peteThis one really gets me as I listen to this “set of rules” that some have come up with and that should be followed when running your own site or in your promoting another site.  Last I heard, we are still in a country where I still have the freedom to run my site the way I see so it will benefit my site and the members. Also, I can promote what program I want – or did we lose our freedom?

Now before you go thinking we are protecting others from being screwed over – and again who made you judge and jury?  Grant you there are some programs out there that are questionable but I don’t feel I’m qualified to decide which they are – just my opinion is I should be focused on my site and know in my heart what I am doing is legal and morally right period.

Stop straddling the fence. Again it’s these same people that talk about others yet do the same behind the scenes and I see that all the time.  How can a person preach one thing and then do the same thing they are saying others should not be doing.  How can a person put down another person for trying it their way and then publically be put down them for it BUT yet keep taking that persons money for an upgrade at their site?

Cheaters?

Who wrote the cheaters handbook?  What or who is a cheater?  When should a person be suspended?  AND if you suspend the cheaters, do they still count the that total member total that you brag about? What happened to being innocent until proven guilty?  Did that go by the wayside also?

judgingcatGrant you there are many cheaters out there and yes they should be stopped but the ones that point fingers really should look at the 3 pointing back at them.  Do you really do everything by the book?  Do you not find shortcuts that shouldn’t be used?  Do you not make deals with others behind the scene?  So who is cheating really?  Think about that the next time you make a deal with someone – who are you cheating out of their commissions?

Lifetime Upgrades

Well this one could be a post in itself as I have really caught hell (excuse my English) that I didn’t put out one of those cheap lifetimes on the mailer that I just launched.  Well Just my opinion, lifetimes are just fast money for an owner.  If the owner was serious about their sites, plan on being around for the long haul then there are expenses that go with it.

Lot of owners get in trouble offering these cheap lifetimes and then wonder why they can’t pay the commissions.  When a lifetime is offered and a person is getting 50 % commissions – you just took in 1/2 the money your should and you cut that recurring income out by offering that lifetime.

AND don’t go and make some low upgrade that is just a few credits above what free members get and put the word lifetime on it.  Come on we are not that stupid that we are going to buy that crap – just so we can say we have a lifetime at your site.  AND yes that does happen – people have been brain washed with that word lifetime.  It’s a trigger word just like free, discount, sale, etc.  Make sure that you read the fine print before you buy and that site owner laughs all the way to the bank.

60728294946944041_qNywDCq7_bWell I see that I got long winded again but feel better that got some things off my chest.  If you are looking for an honest, hard working owner, they are out there.  Don’t get caught up in the crap you read or hear about others.  The bottom line is TRACK YOUR RESULTS – this will show you the true facts about sites and where you should be with your advertising.  What works for someone else not always works for you – you have to take the time and find out what works for YOU.
